Port wines are hard to basically write about, because you can't always attribute them to each varietal that they are composed from. Essentially, not all ports are made from all of the same grapes. This wine uses eight traditional port varietals including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Sauzao, Tinta Cao, Tinta Bairrada, Tinta Madeira, Tinta Amarela and Bastardo.

By far, this is the smoothest port that I have ever had, and I let the presenters know that I felt that way. In fact, I steered a couple other attendees to that table. It is both full-bodied and rich, and it does not disappoint, nor overwhelm the novice drinker.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
